| Tellabration!
Local storytelling events are held in communities throughout the
world by volunteers eager to build grassroots support for storytelling.
This concerted effort is called "Tellabration!." Although the original
scope of Tellabration! was intended for grown-up audiences listening to
stories on the same evening, the event has evolved over the years. We
encourage producers to tailor the event to suit the needs of the community,
providing it falls within the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Producers:
The host or main organizer of a local storytelling event
is typically called the producer. As producers for your community's Tellabration!
you will be joining a network of storytelling enthusiasts. This guide
has been developed as a result of their experiences and is intended to
help you in planning and producing your event successfully.
A Bigger Effort:
Although anyone, anywhere, may host a storytelling
event, the National Storytelling event hopes to brings storytellers and
audiences together in a shared experience designed to enhance and encourage
the art form and to attract local, statewide and national attention and
support.
