Hosting a Personalized Storytelling Event.

So now you have the storytelling bug. You are a believer and you want to spread the good word about storytelling. Now what? Well, most people are not ready to host a full-blown storytelling festival. But many want to share their enthusiasm for storytelling with friends and family. The way to do this is through a personalized storytelling event.

National Support.

Don't worry if this is your first time bringing storytelling to your home, church, library, or community - you're not alone; the National Storytelling Network has provided many materials to get you started--information to support yours and thousands of others' storytelling efforts. Many like you have heard The Call of Story and are joining a movement of local storytelling event called "Tellabration!" >> Can I Do It?

Tellabration!, You're Not Alone.

Tellabration! is a worldwide evening of storytelling. It creates a network of storytelling enthusiasts bonded together in spirit at the same time and on the same weekend.

When?

Although Storytelling events happen year round, and anytime is a great time, individuals around the globe hold local storytelling events at the same time every year, and call it "Tellabration!" Tellabration! is held on the Saturday night before Thanksgiving. If storytelling events are more than one day, they are held over the weekend. Anyone can participate, storytelling organizations, centers, schools, libraries, colleges, museums, performing-arts centers, story-swap groups, story enthusiasts.

Small and Big Events.

Luckily, Tellabration comes in varying sizes and types but there are two main types: Small and Big. Both types can vary in size, so use ideas from both types to create a custom event that meets your needs.
