Becoming a Storyteller

There are many resources available for those who feel story calling to them beyond the normal activities of their daily lives and have interest in becoming a storyteller in their community, town, region, or country. However, there is no right or wrong way to approach storytelling as a pastime or a profession. Many individuals have simply contacted local libraries or bookstores offering their time to read stories to children. Some have gone to storytelling workshops to make contacts and hone their art. Some have contacted storytelling festival coordinators directly to apply for a spot in front of larger audiences. Still others have hosted their own neighborhood storytelling events.
